Debra Lee Shives was born to two creatives in McAllen, Texas. Raised in a neighboring small town, Edinburg, she thrived in creative assignments and tasks. As a child, she often made books out of folded and stapled stacks of paper. Setting aside her creative aspects, it wasn't until an encounter with her Heavenly Father on her 20th birthday that re-birthed her creativity. She pursued and achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising Design.

Captivated by the birth and lives of her first two daughters, she began to illustrate every moment she could. Renewed with a mission to make the bible relatable and applicable to young children, one scripture at a time, Childlike Faith books was born.

She now lives in Dallas, Texas with her handsome husband, three beautiful daughters, and their howling beagle Perry; with the hopes that these books will touch the lives and hearts that will influence this world's future.

I am an example of what effective outpourings of love and leadership can do to a life. I am the result of a planted seed, an invitation. Therefore; I will plant. I will water.
